Well established technologies using quantum effects include: electronic chip manufacturing and computers (magnetic and optical drives), medical imaging (MRI, PET), light technologies (lasers, LEDs), telecommunications (optical fibers and amplifiers), and precision time and location measurements (atomic clocks, GPS).
More speculative but seriously researched future applications may include quantum computing and cryptography based on the absurd phenomena of superposition and entanglement, highly unstable states observed in experiments.
